Individual Therapy, Student Therapist
Jackie completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at the University of Ottawa and her Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University. She is currently working towards completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. In Jackie’s previous role as a school teacher, she supported children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds with a variety of unique needs academically, socially, and personally. This work, in combination with her passion and sensitivity for relating to others, has encouraged her to continue to support people as they navigate challenges and grow as individuals.
Jackie understands that the counseling journey can look very different for each unique individual and aims to embrace that while helping people to work toward their individual goals and reach self-awareness and acceptance. Jackie believes that we all have the inner strength it takes to experience happiness and fulfillment in life and strives to work collaboratively with clients to uncover, explore, and utilize their inner power.
There are moments in life where we all need support, and Jackie believes that providing people with a safe and judgment-free space for self-expression is essential. She recognizes that not every therapeutic modality and theory works for every person, and she is passionate about developing a holistic understanding of who her clients are and what they are experiencing to create a meaningful plan of support that is most suitable for positive change. She is compassionate, empathetic, and welcoming and enjoys the outdoors, travel, and spending quality time with family and friends.
