About the event
Many of us go through life without becoming friends with ourselves, without holding ourselves in a warm, kind, and accepting embrace. In this 5-week group therapy format, we work together to learn the skill of self-compassion. Facilitated by our intern psychotherapist, Nabeela Syeda.
The group sessions aim to help you move from a critical, harsh way of perceiving yourself into having a supportive, reflective, and encouraging relationship with yourself. Research indicates that self-compassion is one of the most vital resiliency skills we can have, dramatically improving our mental and physical well-being. Topics covered include challenging our inner critic, self-advocacy, mindfulness, self-kindness, and much more.
This program will begin in March. Participants are required to first register before gaining access to program materials and worksheets. This program is being offered FREE of cost.Â
Participants who consistently attend every session will also be offered 3 free individual therapy sessions with one of our intern students offering low-cost therapy.
