Sarah Wash is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario Association of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto with a specialization in health and mental health, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology.

Sarah specializes in working with adults (from ages 17+) who are experiencing challenges in their lives. With a background in community mental health, Sarah has supported clients with challenges including anxiety, low mood, borderline personality disorder, interpersonal stressors, grief and bereavement, trauma, and more. Sarah also has experience working with clients from diverse walks of life, including individuals who are neurodiverse, part of the LGBTQ2S+ community, and who come from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

Sarah’s #1 goal in working with clients is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel supported and heard. With experience in supporting individuals who have undergone trauma and chronic stress, much of her work focuses on helping clients regain a sense of safety, process unhelpful thoughts and feelings, and find a way forwards. Her approach to therapy is flexible, gathering knowledge from various theories and modalities to best support her clients, as each individual has different needs. With that being said, Sarah tends to pull from Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and mindfulness approaches when working with clients.

Sarah is grateful that you have considered her to be your potential therapist and work with you on your mental health journey. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to book a free 15-minute consultation to determine if working together would feel like a good fit.
