Welcome to Psychotherapy In The City Inc. By accessing our website and using our services; including individual, couples, or group therapy, online resources, or communication tools - you agree to the following Terms of Service.

 

1. Use of Website & Services

This website and our services are intended for informational and therapeutic purposes. Use of this site does not create a therapist-client relationship unless formally agreed upon through intake and consent processes.

 

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the site or services indicates acceptance of those changes.

2. Client Responsibilities

 

Clients are expected to:

 

  • Attend scheduled sessions on time

  • Provide accurate and truthful information

  • Communicate respectfully

  • Notify us of cancellations with at least [24/48] hours’ notice

Failure to comply may result in termination of services.

 

3. Payment & Cancellation

 

Fees are outlined at the time of booking or in your intake documents. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full.

4. Confidentiality & Limits

​

All information shared during sessions is confidential. Exceptions to confidentiality include:

 

  • Risk of harm to self or others

  • Suspected child or elder abuse

  • Legal obligations (e.g., court orders)

5. Privacy & Data Security​

 

We are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personal health information. All client information is collected, stored, and managed in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and, where relevant, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

 

Therapists at Psychotherapy In The City are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and/or their appropriate provincial regulatory bodies, such as the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). As regulated health professionals, they are bound by strict standards of confidentiality and ethical practice.

 

We use secure, encrypted platforms for all virtual sessions, and client records are stored in secure, password-protected systems accessible only to authorized personnel.

 

By engaging in services with Psychotherapy In The City, you consent to the collection and use of your personal health information for the purposes of providing psychotherapy and managing your file in accordance with regulatory and legal obligations.​

 

6. Termination of Services

​

We reserve the right to terminate therapeutic services if:

 

  • There is a breach of this agreement

  • Clinical appropriateness requires referral

  • Ethical or safety concerns arise
