Brooke Stockhamer
Individual Therapy, Intern Therapist

Brooke Stockhamer is an experienced and warm student psychotherapist. Her integrative approach to therapy takes inspiration from therapeutic disciplines such as emotion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, relational-cultural therapy, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Life can be difficult to process alone, and Brooke guides clients through recognizing and understanding how emotions, relationships and life circumstances are all interconnected. She believes that therapeutic change is an incredibly personal and individualized process and works with clients to craft a unique therapeutic journey that will maximize their wellbeing. Brooke believes in trust, genuineness, and open communication within the client-therapist relationship.

Brooke is dedicated to taking great care in cultivating a strong client-therapist relationship so that true progress can be made. The therapeutic process may begin in the therapy room (be that in-person or virtual!) but Brooke works with clients so that they can cultivate invaluable changes in their own lives. She will stand beside her clients every step of the way, cheering them on as they become the versions of themselves that they strive for.

Brooke’s areas of interest span a wide range of emotional concerns, including difficult life transitions, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, body image and more. With a background in student mental health, crisis-intervention and relationship struggles, Brooke approaches clients with the core belief that clients are the experts in their own wellbeing paired with her wealth of professional experience and intuition.

She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Relationships from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is working towards registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She is also pursuing a Death, Dying and Bereavement Certificate from Wilfrid Laurier University. When Brooke is not working, she enjoys trying new recipes, exploring the outdoors, and snuggling up with her cats and a good book.

Just thinking about therapy is an incredibly brave step in the process of healing. Thank you for being here. If you think Brooke may be able to help you further, please do not hesitate to reach out.
