Mia Vucurovic is a warm and welcoming student psychotherapist, currently pursuing a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. Mia understands that taking the first step towards healing can be scary, but she is committed to meeting you where you’re at and wading through the murky waters together.
Mia is dedicated to creating a therapeutic relationship through empathy, compassion, and acceptance. Mia believes that by creating a safe space, and balancing guidance and collaboration, clients are empowered to enact change in their lives. Mia operates from an anti-oppressive, feminist lens and takes great care to cultivate a strong sense of trust and alliance with her clients.
Mia has 3+ years of experience working at inpatient residential treatment centres with individuals struggling with substance use disorders and is passionate about getting to the root of the problem. Mia has interest in the areas of grief and loss, relationship concerns, anxiety and depression, and mood regulation. She has faith in the resiliency that has carried you thus far and is committed to helping you hold and unpack what you may have been carrying for a while.
Mia holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto as well as a graduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Humber College. Her education, work experience, and lived experience combine to afford the best opportunity to collaborate with her clients. When Mia’s not working, she enjoys connecting with nature, trying new food, and spending time with her loved ones.
It takes a lot of strength and courage to face the unknown and dive into the discomfort. If you feel Mia would be a good fit for you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
