About the event
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health issues for youth today. We've developed a program specifically designed to help youth feel more in control of their mental health.
Anxiety is normal, but its intensity can sometimes feel overwhelming and unmanageable.
Signs of anxiety in youth:
- crying a lot
- constantly worrying about doing well (grades)
- worry of something horribly going wrong to a loved one
- obsession of dying and/or death
- feeling like you're losing control
- avoiding friends and/or going out
- afraid of speaking up (in class or at social gatherings)
- freezing or going blank in stressful situations
- always trying to be perfect or afraid of making mistakes
- not sleeping well
This 6 week program is a group for youth struggling with anxiety and negative sense of self. In this group you will learn techniques to help manage and cope with your anxiety. With hands on tools and practical mindfulness exercises that you will be able to take with you and use in your every day life.
Each person will receive an Anxiety Toolkit to help them through the 6 week program. The Anxiety Toolkit is a personalized toolkit with tips, tools & helpful wellness products to help you manage your anxiety and mental wellness. All our tools and helpful exercises are designed and created by a Registered Psychotherapist based on your individual needs.
Each participant will receive a detailed outline of the upcoming program one week prior to it beginning. In this email there will also be a short survey to help us get a sense of the participant and to help us design their personalized toolkit.
Since this group is a closed group, it means we ask that those interested in joining please commit to the 6 weeks (Every Thursday). This allows the group to formulate a sense of connection and comfort.
Cost for the 6 weeks is $243+HST ($40.50+HST per week)
